Round, plain, conical foot, extremely large, pear- shaped body. The fine curve of the neck is continued in a strongly splaying top rim the gilt bronze band is detachable. Both vases are painted with individual but similar floral motifs the pattern covers the whole surface, recalling the rich vegetation of a flowerbed, both in size and in colours. The foot is lined with leaves, flower stems it serves as the ground from which four different groups of flowers spring, bending right and twisted, reaching the neck and the top rim in a delicate composition. Full roses, irises, bell-flowers, bindweed, poppies and various garden flowers are depicted in their full summer glory, with colourful songbirds and butterflies in between. Flowers that were so popular in Rococo here create a happy, lively atmosphere, without any over-refinement. The vases used to belong to the Festetics palace in Keszthely.
